Colombian multi-instrumentalist and Montreal resident for nearly 15 years, Ramon Chicharron is a key player in the Canadian Latin alternative music scene. His dynamic sound is a testament to his commitment to blending genres and crafting music that invites listeners on a journey through vibrant rhythms and heartfelt lyrics. With influences spanning Latin and Caribbean rhythms, Ramon’s music is both a celebration and a fusion of his diverse cultural heritage.

Ramon first captured the spotlight with his critically acclaimed album Pescador de sueños, which garnered over 3 million streams, won the Félix Award for “Album of the Year - World Music” at ADISQ 2021, and was named “Album of the Year” at the Latin Awards Canada. Building on this success, he released Destello de estrellas in 2022 — a vibrant blend of electro-tropical sounds, champeta-inspired guitars, and Latin rhythms. This album, inspired by themes of love, fate, and nature, was honored as “Album of the Year” at the Latin Awards Canada in 2023 and received a nomination for “Album of the Year - World Music” at the GAMIQ 2022 and at ADISQ 2023.

On September 13th 2024, Ramon Chicharron will release his fourth album, Niebla. Crafted amidst the tranquil Laurentian mountains of Quebec, the lush jungles of the Colombian Pacific, and in the renowned Jean Massicotte studio in Montreal, Niebla is a testament to Ramon's innovative spirit and global influences. This album promises to be a mystical exploration that captures the essence of his vibrant sound and artistic vision.

Ramon has cultivated a loyal following through over 400 performances across Canada, a weekly show at the now-closed venue l’Escalier for over 5 years, and appearances at major music conferences like SXSW, Folk Alliance International, and the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC). His tours span Canada, the USA, Spain, and Colombia, highlighting his broad appeal and his ability to connect with diverse audiences.
